Daily Devotional. And, (Moses), BE READY in the morning, and COME UP in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there TO ME, (the Lord), in the top of the mount. Exodus 34:2. What part of this directive to Moses applies to US today? Did you say, “All of it”? You’d be right. Here’s how this applies to today. Let’s say today is Saturday and God tells Moses to get ready, we’re going to have a talk tomorrow. So what did Moses do? Take the wife out to an “R” rated movie? Go out drinking with the guys? Maybe stay late at the office because he’s behind on the paperwork? Or did he spends the night in prayer asking the Lord to check his attitude, get his motives right, and be sure his heart was right before the Lord? TOMORROW MOSES IS GOING TO TALK TO THE LORD AND HE WANTS TO BE READY!!! So, what do you do to get ready to go talk to the Lord? Do you use 6 days for you and then “clean up” Sunday morning
just before going into church? Maybe God gets an hour or two? Or do you spend all week Walking in Repentance, Forgiveness, and Obedience in preparation for talking to the Lord on Sunday, and Monday, and, all the rest of days of the week? Is your intent here to always be ready to talk to the Lord with a minimum of Repentance needed just before you enter His Gates with Praise and His Courts with Thanksgiving? Is your heart to please the Lord, and not worry about pleasing man? Do you spend a few minutes with the Lord? A few hours? Even a day shut up with the Lord? God asked Moses for 40 days, and Moses gladly said Yes. Would you give God 40 days if He asked? Or 30 days? 20 days? OK, what WOULD you give Him? EXACTLY what do you do to get ready for talking with the Lord? Be Truthful, God’s listening to your heart’s answer even right now! Get ready, to, Be Blessed.
