Halloween, what’s a Christian to do?

Halloween, what’s a Christian to do?

There are many subjects in the Bible that are not as black and white as we may want them to be. A case in point, Halloween. Christians are all over the map on this one and all viewpoints believe themselves to be Biblically right. I’m using the subject of Halloween as an illustration of this dilemma. I want us to get away from the idea that, I’m right, you’re wrong, or you’re right and I’m wrong. This isn’t about us and what we think about this. Let’s take it to a much higher Authority. I personally believe that Christ has only one thought on any subject in the Bible. Meaning, whatever subject you choose, you can Seek Him and what He has to say about it. There are no direct verses that come right out and say, “Thou shalt not celebrate Halloween”, that would be easy. So if there is no direct answer, we have to go to the Word and find anything it might seem to say about it. Below are verses that seem to describe how we should handle the subject of Halloween. I understand that we can, each one of us, interpret a verse differently from someone else. But again, if we seek the Mind of Christ, what does He say? That answer is between you and the Holy Spirit and that should bring you Peace in your Spirit about the matter. Whether or not Christ would take kids door to door calling “Trick or treat”, you have to decide that one. The question comes to the old saying, “What would Jesus do”? Halloween is just one subject of many. The concept here is to dig into the Word and the Holy Spirit to find the answer to most anything you want to find out. Someday (soon?) we will ALL be of One Mind in Christ. Until then, Be Blessed.
