Daily Devotional- MORNINGTIME 1728

Daily Devotional. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the BLIND LEAD THE BLIND, both shall fall into the ditch. Matthew 15:14. There’s a story in the bible of a man who knows the where-abouts of a great treasure. He works hard to buy the field, dig, and find the buried treasure. It takes great effort on his part to accomplish this, but he stays with it until he finds what he’s looking for. Once found, he will never let it go. You see, he has found The Treasure of Great Price. This Treasure is Christ. Satan, from the very beginning, has been offering up cheap substitutes to distract people from seeking the Real Thing. Fool’s Gold can be found on the surface of the ground, it looks and feels like the Real Thing. When you work to gather enough to “look rich” and have it tested, you find all your efforts were in vain, it’s worthless. It was too cheap and too easy, to be real. The only way to know if it’s Real or not, is to take it to the Authority and test it. Two people looking at their fool’s gold may agree it’s the Real Deal, until Someone of Authority tells them the Truth. If a church looks at itself, its numbers, its visitors, its income, and decides its growing greatly, you have fool’s gold. You have “growth” according to man’s standards. This IS the blind leading the blind. Only when, and not until, the church body goes to The Authority to see if they Truly have found the Real Treasure, will they know the Truth. Only the Lord can tell them how they look, through His Eyes. Are you chasing rainbows, or have you found the Diamond with every facet sparkling in the Light of His Word? A Beauty that only a Real Diamond can give. Once you see the Real Thing, everything else looks cheap and is quickly thrown down to the dirt. Do you talk to the Authority? Or just to each other? Talk to the Lord about your treasure to see if you will, Be Blessed.
