Daily Devotional – MORNINGTIME 1603

Daily Devotional. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me , when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13. Isn’t this just so sweet, another promise from the Lord about how well He’s going to take care of us, knowing that God only thinks good things and peace towards us christians today. Such a comfort to hear. We throw this verse around and say how good God is as He brings us peace.?!.?! THIS IS SELECTIVE HEARING, THIS IS NOT FOR US TODAY. Read the verses before and after. “For thus saith the Lord , That after SEVENTY YEARS be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord : and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord ; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. Jeremiah 29:10, 14. This was a promise to a people that were in captivity by the enemy for 70 years. It would take that long to afflict them to turn them from their evil ways. OK, so let’s stretch this to apply to us today. Are you ready and willing to; “Then shall ye call upon me, (in your suffering) and ye shall go and pray unto me, And ye shall seek me, and find me , when ye shall search for me WITH ALL YOUR HEART”. Did you actually think these people were spending 70 years at some timeshare??? THERE WAS SERIOUS SUFFERING HERE. God was telling them it was all for their good. Can you suffer the death of your Self, Flesh, and Old Man Nature? Yes? Then the Promise is yours also, Be Blessed.
