Daily Devotional. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, (to the things of this world), and your life is hid with Christ in God. Colossians 3:2-3. How do you read this? Is it just a thought? Maybe an admonition? A hard encouragement? Or possibly A COMMAND? You have to decide, sometime, what this is to you. Something simple, to think about, sometime? Or something that requires your immediate attention, NOW, and for the rest of your life? How many of these kinds of verses can you consider, later, maybe never? God is Grace, and I’ll deal with it when I have more time in my life? If God has your attitude towards Him as His attitude towards you, how far would you be on your way towards CHRISTLIKENESS? Think on this, until you have a True, Holy, Reverent Fear of the Lord, YOU DON’T!!! No Fear of God means no respect for God. How can you Honor someone you don’t respect? A proper Fear of God WILL bring everything into focus. Suddenly, God takes, not only center stage, BUT EVERYTHING. He leaves nothing out. If you’re His, HE’S ALL YOU GOT. If he’s just a trinket around your neck, he’s nothing. It’s all, or nothing. It’s obey all His Rules, or it’s no rules at all. There is no in-between, it’s all His Rules, or none of His Rules. Remember His 2 rules? Love your God, and love your neighbor? Just 2, and you’re home free. Still working on them? Good, so are the rest of us. Obey Christ and His 2 Rules, and He’ll teach you how to Rest in Him, and do the 2 rules right. He’ll teach you how to get it all Right, the Rules, the Right, everything. When you Rest in Christ, all your affections will be in proper order. EVERYTHING falls into Proper Order. And for that, you will properly, Be Blessed.
