Daily Devotional. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, IF YE CONTINUE IN MY WORD, THEN are ye My Disciples INDEED; And ye shall KNOW The Truth, and The Truth shall make you Free. John 8:31-32. Please Understand, none of this discussion is an attempt to excuse the sin of disobedience. It is only meant to highlight the COST of disobedience. I’ll explain. As an Illustration, Let’s say everyday the Lord has 100 Opportunities for you to choose to Obey His Directives, or not, as YOU decide. Maybe some you missed because you’re still learning how to hear that Still Small Voice of the Holy Spirit. And maybe some were missed as you were too busy and just never got around to it, “I forgot”. And some were outright, “No, I don’t think I’ll do that today, maybe tomorrow…”. Satan will always move in to tell you how bad you are, you’re not worthy, and your disobedience proves you’re going to Hell. Don’t believe it. Yes, the Holy Spirit may CONVICT you of your sin, BUT NOT CONDEMN YOU FOR IT. If you ask Him, He may show you that His Directive is an Opportunity lost to YOU, and was handed on to someone else who WOULD be obedient. But it was handed to you, “first”. Your Obedience, OR NOT, will never determine if someone goes to Heaven or Hell, that’s ALWAYS in the Hands of the Holy Spirit. Not even one of Christ’s sheep will be lost due to human error or disobedience. But your “reward” or “blessing” may be handed on to the next person because you CHOSE to not take it when Offered. Believers, you WILL be Effective for Christ, and the amount of your Effectiveness is determined by your amount of Obedience. Be it 10 times out of 100, or be it 97 times out of 100, that’s up to you. NO CONDEMNATION, but learn from His “Convicting Mercy and Grace” towards you. Will you ever get it ALL right, no, but work on getting it right, today, as often as you can, and do better tomorrow. It’s a “learning curve” and how fast you learn is on you. Learn through Conviction. Now, Go Learn and, Be Blessed.
