Daily Devotional- MORNINGTIME 1704

Daily Devotional. And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. AND THE WORD OF THE LORD WAS PRECIOUS IN THOSE DAYS; there was no open vision. 1 Samuel 3:1. Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him. 1 Samuel 3:7. And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, AND DID LET NONE OF HIS WORDS FALL TO THE GROUND. 1 Samuel 3:19. As a child, Samuel ministered to the Lord, yet he did not yet know the Lord. Eli is now ministering to the Lord in dead, dry, obedience. There was no Life in Him. He was actually a dead man walking. The child Samuel could only copy what he saw and was told to do. Both Eli and Samuel ministered to the Lord. The difference was, Samuel knew there was something good about this ministering, that to him, it was what the Lord wanted. Samuel had a heart for the Lord and was doing everything he knew to obey the Lord, even blindly, he was looking. Eli was blind in all ways, and not looking. Samuel, following and listening to a dead preacher, was looking past the preacher for more of what he knew was out there. To him, the Word was precious, it had life in it, and He was hungry for life. Going to Eli was a stepping stone to More, for Samuel. If you’re in a dead, dying, or very little Life church, that’s ok. Pray for your pastor, encourage him, glean all you can from him, and Read/Study the Word, the Life in Christ, that your life will minister Life to others also hungry for more. If the pastor no longer encourages people in the church, YOU encourage people in the church. If The Word is no longer Precious to your dead/dying church, that’s sad. Keep it Precious and Alive to you, let none of “It” fall to the ground in your Life. As times get darker and Apostasy takes greater hold, keep your eyes off people and their failures, and keep them on Christ and His Victory. Samuel’s Heart’s Cry was for the Lord, even before he know the Lord. Are your eyes on Christ? Then you will, Be Blessed
