Daily Devotional. AND GRIEVE NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30. (Have you ever skated in thin ice? I’ll show you how). SALVATION: GOD PLANNED IT, CHRIST PAID FOR IT, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT BRINGS IT TO PASS, IN HIS TIME. There are two ways to save somebody. A: You Preach the Gospel in its Fullness, Pray over what was Preached, and leave all the rest of it to the Holy Spirit, period. Or, B:, you change around the priority of your church service to custom tailor it to a specific group of people, let’s say, to the young people. You sing songs the holy spirit is all over, you can feel it after singing the same chorus 8 times, (but when you actually read the words, they barely make sense), you already know just how much to dim the lights, and when the preaching is done, you tell everybody to close their eyes and not to look around because that could embarrass someone so much, that it would stop them from going up front to “get saved”. And of those who actually do go you front, there is someone there who will ask them to “Repeat after me”, words and phrases some christians still don’t understand, like, “Do you want to ask Jesus into your heart?”, and, “Has Jesus made a difference in your heart this morning?”, and even, “Were you serious when you said The Prayer?”. And after 5 minutes of waiting for someone, anyone, to come up front, the window of salvation opportunity closes, and everyone goes home. This is generally how salvation goes in most American churches that even offer salvation. And we EXPECT the Holy Spirit to jump to attention when we rev up the crowd and give Him 10 minutes to do His Thing!!! WE’VE THROWN HIM IN A BOX AND SLAMMED THE LID SHUT, and we let Him out for 10 minutes, to make us and our numbers look good. Dance for us Lord, so that we can, Be Blessed.
