Daily Devotional. And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, YE SHALL NOT EAT OF IT, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. Genesis 3:2-3. As you grow in the Lord, learning Obedience, (among other things), the directions you are first given are very simple to hear and follow. Like, Don’t eat from that one tree. All the other trees are fair game, eat all you like. That’s a simple enough instruction and shouldn’t be that hard to follow. But that’s the problem, the Lord knows exactly what will be hard for us to follow. Yes, all His directions will be within our ability to say NO to them, but not so easy you can obey them in your sleep. As we Grow in the Lord, today’s lessons will be just as hard to say NO to as the first lesson was, from our perspective. But if we can stand back from ourselves and look at our growth, today we are able to say NO to things that would have been too hard back in the beginning. That’s why it’s called Growth. Yes, in Growth, many decisions get easier and easier to say NO to, but when you look at the tough ones you’ve had to make recently, aren’t they just as hard as the first ones, back in your beginning? DON’T GET DISCOURAGED, DON’T GIVE UP, this is and always will be, a learning process with growing pains. Rejoice in the fact that the Lord Loves you, is Growing you, AND pruning you, all to make you ever healthier in Him. Hey, you could have been dead wood being cut off and cast aside into the fire!!! You aren’t even required to understand, just Obey, and watch where the Lord leads you. He WILL encourage you when you need to be encouraged. In the meantime, learn all the Obedience you can, and, Be Blessed.
