Daily Devotional. Thus shall they, (the sheep), know that I the Lord their God, (the Good Shepard), am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord God. And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, (now Gentiles included), and I am your God, saith the Lord God. Ezekiel 34:30-31. This is the Good News at the end of Ezekiel chapter 34, a chapter rebuking the shepherds for eating their own sheep and getting fat on their own flocks. This is a hard rebuke against many of today’s “shepherds” fleecing the flocks for their own gain, while the sheep starve. Just look at MOST (not all), TV preachers. Ok, let’s move on to the warning here and now. Dad’s, you ARE the Priests of your house. If you have a family to raise, BE SURE to be raising them all in the Fear and Admonition of the Lord. Read this whole chapter, 34, of Ezekiel and think of it as a warning you need to heed. Is there ANYTHING in your work of raising your family that could, or should, be changed or improved on? Are you spending the time with them THE LORD wants you to spend with them? Is your Wife the first in your list of people to teach? Are you in your Prayer Closet when the Lord calls you into to be with Him? These are all questions only you and the Lord can answer. This is as Personal as it gets, just you and God. This is you learning from God’s Warning to others and checking yourself BEFORE the Lord has to Rebuke you or come down hard on your case. Listen to Moses and The Prophets, to learn from them and what they had to say, their Words are still Words from the Lord to man. Forget “Old Testament/New Testament”, the Lord never changes and neither does His Word. The Whole Bible applies to us all. Let’s use it as a magnifying glass to check ourselves, to keep us walking on that straight and narrow path to CHRISTLIKENESS. Follow His Path, and, Be Blessed.
