Daily Devotional. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2. There is a lot of watering down, and cheapening, of the gospel to make it easier to swallow, or more in tune with the times. Actually, that statement is wrong. NOTHING cheapens or waters down the gospel. THE GOSPEL IS PURE AND STRAIGHT FROM CHRIST, PERIOD. You may preach or teach another gospel, a lesser gospel, or even no gospel, but THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST is always 100% Pure Word of God. Christ died and Paid for Holy, anything less, is not of Him. So have you noticed how easy and simple this verse is? One can easily say, “Yup, that’s me Lord, I’m right there with ya”. Believing that their thoughts and affections are all about the Lord. Then there’s the Follower that cries out, “Oh God, this is over my head, only through Obedience to the Holy Spirit can I even try to get my thoughts and affections starting in line with this command”. Can you see the difference? To the Lost, the Bible is a bunch of does and don’ts. To Followers, the Bible is Impossible. They know that only with the Holy Spirit’s help and direction, AND Resting in the Finished Work of Christ, can they enter into Heaven. Even, Love your God and neighbor, is too much, too hard, to obey. Only Christ Obeyed and Paid, only He can do, (did), the Work. We can ONLY Rest in His Finished Work on the Cross of Calvary. Outside of the Finished Work of Christ, the Bible is Impossible. But when Resting in Christ, Rest, the Work is done. Now, take time to, Be Blessed.
