Daily Devotional – MORNINGTIME 1538

Daily Devotional. And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, AND WAS TRANSFIGURED BEFORE THEM: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. Matthew 17:1-2. Imagine a large, pure white piece of paper on the table in front of you. Take a leaking ink pen and touch it once, lightly, to the piece of paper. It has now left a small smudge of ink on a very large, white piece of paper. Peter, James, and John saw Jesus as that pure white piece of paper, (easy guys, I’m just going for a little illustrative comparison here), and when Jesus allowed them to see His Transfiguration, just a touch of, a tiny piece of, His Glory, this is like that tiny ink smudge. I’ll explain. It’s not the color of the ink spot, it’s the size of the ink spot. Jesus allowed them to see just a tiny bit of His Glory. That’s all they could handle right then. He even told them not to tell anyone what they saw until later, after He was raised from the dead. All the Bible can do is tell us about this sight, we have to take it by Faith. They actually saw a glimpse of Him in His Glory. Even if you try to visualize Jesus’s Glory, it’s almost nothing compared to what He will reveal to us throughout Eternity. Do you think you’ll see Christ in ALL His Fullness and Glory the first time you see Him in heaven? I say no, because He will be revealing more and more of Himself for all Eternity. He is not like a 3 dimensional man standing in front of you, walk around Him once and you’ve seen all of Him in the first look-see. When you saw your wife, (or hubby) for the first time, it was awesome. Now, after years of marriage, are you seeing a whole lot more, in many ways, you didn’t see the first time? And we will soon see our Bridegroom for the first time…? How much more will we see the second time? And the third time? Think on this, and, Be Blessed.
