Daily Devotional- MORNINGTIME 1935

Daily Devotional. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because THOU HAST LEFT THY FIRST LOVE. Revelation 2:4. This can be really dangerous. Do we actually believe we can Love Christ, AND LEAVE HIM??? This is not about “once saved, always saved”, it IS about walking away from your first love, walking away from Christ. If the wording doesn’t work with your theology, you’ll have to deal with that, Christ said it. This flies up in the face of “once saved, always saved”, which is another way of saying, “once a Christian, always a Christian”. Tie this in with, when someone walks the isle, says the prayer, and the preacher declares, “Here’s our new Brother in the Lord”, the preacher is calling him a Christian. Now, if he leaves the church and no longer reads his Bible, did he leave Christ? Remember, preacher told everyone he was a Christian, so was he, and now he is no more? Or he wasn’t, still isn’t, and preacher lied to us saying he was? They say it’s 60% of Christian kids in high-school lose their Christianity in the first year of college. Everyone THOUGHT they were, and now they aren’t??? Or were they, AND THEY LOST THEIR FIRST LOVE? Try this, get your eyes off the start, (when he walked the isle), and go to, DID HE FINISH THE RACE? It’s not about how many start the race, it’s all about, WILL YOU FINISH THE RACE? You can watch some people for years and almost KNOW they’ll finish, at least it’s looking that way. There are others presented to everyone as a new convert, and you doubt they’ll last 3 weeks. And many times, that Discernment is right. It was all a show. Much to the embarrassment of the declaring preacher, unless, it’s never talked about, again, ever, to anyone…. Another Teachable Moment, missed by the preacher. (It helped the numbers, we’ll leave it alone). If Christ were a number, it would be NUMBER ONE. KEEP your First Love, and, Be Blessed.
