Daily Devotional. This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, TEACHING FOR DOCTRINES THE COMMANDMENTS OF MEN. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Matthew 15:8-9, 14. Here’s an example of a situation to be very careful of that you not fall for. And this is an easy one to fall for. You may never even see it coming, fall headlong into it, and without some sort of discernment, and never know you’re in it. You have certain beliefs you hold dear, you’ve taught them to your family, and you’re looking for a church of like-minded believers. You find such a church, fit in very nicely, join, and get some sort of position in the church. Church is growing with more like-minded believers, the numbers and finances will prove it, WE ARE A GOOD, GOD FEARING CHURCH. (How many churches believe this about themselves)? Here’s the problem. NO ONE is asking the Lord about how they are doing. NO ONE is checking the church doctrine against the Bible to be sure it’s Biblically sound or not. NO ONE is listening when a voice speaks up to say things aren’t right. AND THEY’RE NOT RIGHT. There’s just enough God to sound good and plenty of man to not convict anyone of anything. Everyone goes away feeling good about everything the church does, and teaches. NO PROBLEM HERE, WE’RE IN FINE SHAPE. They’re deceiving themselves and no one knows it because they’re all in it together. The Blind Leading The Blind. Can it be any more plain? Yes, there are good churches growing just like this, AND THEY CONTINUOUSLY COMPARE THEMSELVES TO THE WORD OF GOD. They look for troubles, and Biblically deal with them. That’s the difference, one includes man, one includes Christ. IN ALL DECISIONS, include Christ, and, Be Blessed.
