Daily Devotional. This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR FROM ME. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Matthew 15:8-9, 14. It is extremely hard to over emphasize the serious magnitude of pushing aside the idea of, IS YOUR HEART AWAY FROM THE LORD??? This is a hard one because most people in church think of themselves as good believers. If you were to follow them around for a week and then report to them about your observations, most would be appalled to hear you say, “I don’t really see much christian activity in your life, and nothing like you portray to others on Sunday morning”. I’m sure this will step on some toes and many will say, he’s talking about others, that’s not me. Ok, no insult intended. If you go to church Sunday morning for the one hour service, and find yourself looking around, thinking on many other things, getting upset with the crying baby, spending more time criticizing the preacher than listening to him, and watching the clock tic down to “leave” time, can you really claim your heart is really in it? Ever skip church to watch the game? It’s a pretty day, let’s go golfing, we’ll catch church next week. It’s ok, God knows my heart, we’ll talk some other time. Can this one hour just be a reflection of your attitude for the rest of the week? It’s so easy for us to fool ourselves into believing we’re good people, (thank you Satan), and never check with the Lord to see what He thinks. (Is what He thinks important to you)? WITHOUT CHRIST, WE’RE DEAD!!! Check and BE SURE He’s your Life and He has your heart so that you may, Be Blessed.
