Daily Devotional. Even so hath the Lord ordained that THEY WHICH PREACH THE GOSPEL SHOULD LIVE of THE GOSPEL. 1 Corinthians 9:14. Anyone, from Preachers, Teachers, to Joe Sheepers, who wants to tell you or teach you what the Gospel says, should be living it themselves. Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? Thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? Romans 2:21. If you say it, live it. There are many preachers and teachers out there that will tell you, “whatever”, but they don’t believe it for themselves or their families. “I teach my family they shouldn’t do this, but it’s ok for the congregation to do it”. Does this mean you love one more than another? Wouldn’t it be a lot easier to preach/teach the same thing to everybody??? If something is bad, isn’t it bad for everyone? If something is good, wouldn’t it be good for everyone? Whether you sit with princes, and then with paupers, isn’t your message the same to both? Otherwise, it can get very confusing as to what you’ve said to who. And if you’re teaching different theologies to different people, when they start sharing and comparing notes, a person’s credibility can come into question quickly. Here’s an illustration; I tell him it’s a pre-trib rapture, and I tell her it’s a post-trib rapture, am I not talking out of both sides of my mouth? Who am I being truthful to, and who am I lying to? If I don’t know or don’t understand something, I should just say so. Individually, we know pieces, together, we can understand a lot. I should at least keep my story the same to everyone. People in, and out, of the church are looking for consistency, honesty, and authority in someone who says what they believe, AND IS WILLING TO DIE FOR THEIR CONVICTIONS. Is your theology worth dying for no matter who hears your Faith? ALWAYS speak the Truth, it could get you killed. Live, or Die, Be Blessed.
