Daily Devotional. That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the WASHING OF WATER BY THE WORD, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it SHOULD BE HOLY AND WITHOUT BLEMISH. Ephesians 5:26-27. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, BY THE WASHING of regeneration, AND RENEWING OF THE HOLY GHOST; Titus 3:5. Let’s establish the fact that before we came to Christ unto Salvation, we were miserable wretches, arrogant and self-righteous, and dirtier than filthy rags. Any argument? The day you came to Christ, you brought all this baggage and dirty with you. Please read carefully and look at the illustration, not the letter perfect way of salvation. When you saw the Pure Christ, and then your dirty self, did you make a bee line for Christ and His Forgiveness for your wicked ways? You got saved and a new Love in your Life, Christ. That’s Great. Now, did some aspects of your old life still hang around and kept trying to drag you back down? Here’s the point. Not EVERYTHING was instantly changed. As your study of, and Love for Christ grew, He would show you hidden junk in your heart He wanted to deal with, and ask you if He could deal with it as you came to understand the unholiness of it. The Cleansing and Washing of the Word is still growing you in Purity as the dirt is being hauled out of you. It’s a process and work of the Holy Spirit, and NOT something we can do ourselves. Read and Study His Word, ask Him to change you, to Purify you, and to Grow you into CHRISTLIKENESS. It’s a Lifelong Process. How clean do you want to be when you meet Christ? Be Washed, Be Cleansed, Be Blessed.
