Daily Devotional. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; THAT THEY MIGHT OBTAIN A BETTER RESURRECTION: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (OF WHOM THE WORLD WAS NOT WORTHY:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. Hebrews 11:35-38. These are all Believers who will be called home at various times and in various ways, in the past, in the present, and in the future. They all have seen just enough of Christ to know that there is no other Name under heaven by which they may be Saved. So they gladly live the life, and the death, that Christ has called each one of them to live in, and die in. One glimpse of Christ is MORE than enough to satisfy them that whatever Christ calls them to, is so much more worth it than ANYTHING the world may try to offer. The opportunity to Deny Christ so they can live for a few more minutes IN THIS WORLD is so foreign to them, it doesn’t even come up as a viable thought to consider. NOT ONE of these people ever looked to, at, or for, some instant, quick trip Home to Heaven with the “promise” of skipping all pain and suffering. They all know and understand enough of Christ’s pain and suffering on the Cross, that to share even some of His Pain is a privilege far beyond their greatest dreams. Are they LOOKING for pain? No, but they know that that IS a part of the Life of Christ here on this earth, and that for those called to share in this part of Christ’s Ministry will, and have, gladly done so, with no regrets. To Live for Christ, and to Die with Christ, for that you Truly Will, Be Blessed.
