Daily Devotional- MORNINGTIME 1654

Daily Devotional. And (Jesus) found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; MAKE NOT MY FATHER’S HOUSE AN HOUSE OF MERCHANDISE. John 2:14-16. So here’s how it worked, back then. Drive into town to the local, “Get Forgiveness” place, throw some money on the table, grab the rope tied to your freshly purchased cow, turn around and give the rope to the priest who does the bloody work of killing your cow, you ask for Forgiveness for another year, and you go back down the road as clean as when you got there. THAT’S “Easy-Believism”, you don’t even get your hands dirty. You could easily, conveniently, grab a quick sacrifice, right there in the front hall of the Temple, pay cash, and go. How much more convenient can you get??? Don’t worry, it’s still just as easy today. Go up front, say “The Prayer”, sign the card, join the church, get a job in the church, and as soon as a caring brother questions your salvation and fruits, you get angry and tell him not to judge you, “Because you don’t know my heart”, and quit church, never to return again. Ya, you sure showed them, didn’t you? How’s this like back then? Your “forgiveness” is all laid out at the church door, just follow these simple easy steps, and you’re forgiven. It’s as easy as that. You’re pronounced, “A new Christian”, AND YOU NEVER EVEN HAD TO OPEN A BIBLE. Jesus threw out convenient Easy-Believism then, and He still throws it out today. No fuss, no muss, still clean hands and ready to go, home. Do it this way, and you WON’T, Be Blessed.
