Daily Devotional. Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, EXCEPT THERE COME A FALLING AWAY FIRST, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4. Just to recap and be sure we’re clear here, the Falling Away will be little c “christians”, look- alikes, counterfeits, and phony’s, “leaving” the church because of persecution and/or tribulation. They leave Christ because they never were of Christ. As tribulation gets heavier and harder, more and more little “c”s will leave. They are the dead wood in the church. No, we don’t know someone’s heart so there will be people who will drop out and we had almost no idea they didn’t know Christ. Many want their friends and families to come to Christ, and when they do (?), they miss the small signs that maybe they really aren’t of Christ. Here’s the point. Deception can be so strong that only the Lord will be able to tell the saved from the unsaved. Our job is not to decide who is and isn’t, but to preach to them all no matter what they look like. Preach, teach, exhort and pray for anyone and everyone. With our eyes on Christ we’ll be about the Father’s Business, and leave the Judging to Him. If you pray for everyone the Lord puts on your Heart, you’ve got them covered and their Choice to Believe or not, is in their hands. Are YOU ready for Christ’s Return? If so, you, Be Blessed.
