Daily Devotional – MORNINGTIME 1598

Daily Devotional. WE ACKNOWLEDGE, O Lord , OUR WICKEDNESS, AND the INIQUITY of our fathers: FOR WE HAVE SINNED AGAINST THEE. Do not abhor us , for thy name’s sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us. Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O Lord our God? THEREFORE WE WILL WAIT UPON THEE: for thou hast made all these things . Jeremiah 14:20-22. Jeremiah is crying out to the Lord to not forget him and them, because of their sins. The sins are so deep, Jeremiah is including himself with a sinful people. Later on the Lord tells Jeremiah that judgment and captivity will fall, that many sinners will die, and that the Lord will keep Jeremiah safe AS HE TOO GOES THROUGH CAPTIVITY BY THE ENEMY. Just how deep does sin go in a Believers life today? One who IS following and obeying the Lord to the best of their understanding? This question is in line with the coming tribulation cleansing to Purity the Body of Christ. Think of a 50 year old cast iron skillet handed down from your grandmother, to your mother, and on to you. It’s seasoned and well used every day. It is cleaned every time you cook with it. Got the picture? Now, look very closely at the inside edge of the pan. See all those little black bumps, the ones you have given up on scrubbing years ago because they just wouldn’t budge? It was easier to leave them, than deal with them. They don’t get in the food so leave them alone. THAT is what the coming tribulation is going to deal with, sins in our lives WE don’t even think about anymore. It’s going to take some serious scrubbing and chipping away to be TOTALLY CLEANSED AND MADE PURE for our soon coming Bridegroom. Yes, this is down to splitting hairs about sin, NO SIN WILL COME INTO GOD’S PRESENCE. Be Cleansed, Be Blessed.
