Daily Devotional – MORNINGTIME 1543

Daily Devotional. And straightway (Jesus) coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness. AND HE WAS THERE IN THE WILDERNESS FORTY DAYS, TEMPTED OF SATAN; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him. Mark 1:10-13. This is a very quick reading of the 40 days Jesus was in the wilderness without food or water, tempted of the devil, AND PASSING THE TEST. “Ya, but that was Jesus, He can do ANYTHING”. No, that was Jesus as man showing us we have the same authority to stop Satan in his tracks, and to send him away. Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit, we are, (can be), filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus knew how to pray to the Father, we can know how to pray to the Father. Jesus
was obedient to everything the Holy Spirit directed Him to do, we can be obedient to the same Holy Spirit with the same obedience. Now, here are 2 ways to say the same thing. 1, Jesus has shown us we have no excuse to disobey the Holy Spirit ever again. And 2, Jesus has shown us that through Christ, we can obey the Holy Spirit and send the devil away, even when he, Satan, is “in your face”. 1 is legalistic, but true, 2 is full of Mercy, and also true. What will it take to get you to obey? What will it take to encourage you to obey? Either way, the bottom line is, on the day you stand before Christ and He shows you a time you choose to not obey the Holy Spirit, and what the results WOULD have been, had you obeyed, you will fall on your face in anguish of heart, in deep repentance, and cry out, “Why did I not further the cause of Christ when I had the chance?” We will all be held accountable for EVERY time we choose to not obey, and that WILL be a very hard Day. Today, choose to Obey, and, Be Blessed.
