Daily Devotional – MORNINGTIME 1530

Daily Devotional. If ye then be risen with Christ, SEEK those things which are above, WHERE CHRIST SITTETH on the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1. Let’s make a run for Simplicity in Christ. There are all kinds of things out there that bring confusion, turmoil, misunderstanding, and error into people’s lives. I’m speaking about Christians here, not the general worldly population. Big “C” and little “c” Christians. The Old Testament had 10 rules to live by, and that was found to be an impossible task. Only Christ Himself did that. The New Testament has only 2 rules, Love God, and, Love your Neighbor. Again, this is still impossible for us to do. For US to do. Emphasis on US. Christ lived a Perfect life and was the only one qualified to be the Perfect Sacrifice to Pay for our sins and take the Wrath of God that was set for us, upon Himself. Therefore, ONLY in and through Christ can we have any of the Benefits and Promises God has for His People. We MUST Run to Christ and leave EVERYTHING ELSE behind. We can bring NOTHING with us when we go to Him. Not our plans, ideas, thoughts, or ways, they all must be left behind in the dirt, where they came from. IN CHRIST, the only thing that God recognizes is OBEDIENCE, PERIOD. In Christ, all we can do is obey. He leads, we follow, no discussion. We, as sheep, Trust our Shepherd completely, and Joyfully obey His every Command. This is where True Simplicity lives. Just obey Christ, and He takes care of the Rest. (Both meanings: all of it, and, rest in Him). Impossible? Yes, it sure is. Only the Holy Spirit can show us and help us Obey this command. He is the God of the Impossible. He will bring us through, that we WILL, Be Blessed
