And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: TILL WE ALL COME IN THE UNITY OF THE FAITH, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, UNTO A PERFECT MAN, unto the measure of the stature OF THE FULLNESS OF CHRIST: Ephesians 4:11-13. This is called the 5 fold ministry. These 5 offices are to build up and edify the Body of Christ. There are many who believe that we no longer need all 5 of these people. For example, the office of Apostle stopped when the original 12 died off. So where is that in the Bible? Where has sin eased up so that no one needs correction? Has the Fullness of Christ come to the whole Body yet? Or is the Holy Spirit still working on that? And if you think that the Prophets ONLY gave a hard word about everyone is going to die unless they repent, well, you don’t understand the office of Prophet. Stand back and just look at the overall 5 fold ministry. All these people spoke whatever the Lord had for them to say, whatever it took to grow and build the Body of Christ. This isn’t rocket science, they simply Spoke the Word of the Lord whenever and wherever the Lord said to. It wasn’t all Hell, fire, and brimstone. Are we any less needy today than back then, to hear a Word from the Lord? Is sin less today than back then? Is Satan any less angry and hateful towards Christians today, than back then? Are we just as needy today as back then to Hear and Understand the Lord? No, God hasn’t thrown out any of His Guys, and we shouldn’t either. We need them all, and we will, Be Blessed.
