Daily Devotional. For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Exodus 34:14. The Lord is telling us, if you’re going to worship Him, you will NOT worship any other gods. But if you’re NOT going to worship Him, you can worship anyone or anything else you want to. It’s been said in the past that a person can go to a church, hear the preacher, and if the preacher is teaching some kind of heresy, the listener can be deceived. That is true. That could be someone looking to see what’s out there. Here’s a second option. That same person is shopping around looking for a church that is teaching/preaching what He WANTS to hear. He’s not being deceived, he’s looking for his style of deception. He KNOWS what he wants and will look high and low until he finds it. For example, Joel Osteen isn’t deceiving anybody, his congregation is WANTING to hear what Osteen is preaching. Joel Osteen is God’s Judgment on a people who want something OTHER than the Lord. Yes, of course, people are deceived every day. I’m just trying to illustrate how many people look for a church that caters to their WANTS. The very bottom line is yes, they are ALL deceived if they are not following the Lord Jesus Christ. This just illustrates that everybody has a Christ shaped hole in them that ONLY Christ can fill. Many people are looking for something, anything, to fill that hole as long as it’s not Christ. Christ is the ONLY One that can bring Godly fulfilment and satisfaction. Christ is ALL, or He’s nothing. He follows nobody. If you follow Christ, give it your all. If you follow somebody else, give it your all. Either way, give it your best. Christ brings ALL with Him. Anyone else has nothing to offer. When you get to the place of seeing how empty your Life is your way, turn to Christ and let Him fill you His Way. The Lord will allow you to find what you’re looking for. Seek Christ, THE TRUTH, and, Be Blessed.
