Daily Devotional. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me SHOULD NOT ABIDE IN DARKNESS. John 12:46. This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is Light, and in him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5. Yes, it is this simple. The world is full of darkness and every abomination against the Lord runs in the shadows and hides from the Light. We can have nothing to do with the Works of darkness. We cannot play in it, visit it, sneak in a little time in it, we can have NOTHING to do with it. We are growing in Christ and CHRISTLIKENESS. We have no freedom or authority to play with Them in the darkness. And to be sure, you have NO Freedom in Christ to even THINK about darkness, none whatsoever. Yes, Satan will try to throw thoughts into your head, but that’s all. You may choose to cast them aside and continue walking with Christ in the Light. Going back to play, even on the fringes, of darkness, is as a dog returning to his vomit. (That’s a tasty picture to keep in your head). Seek, Study, and Follow Christ as He leads us to His Banqueting Table, to eat with Him, for all Eternity. Now THAT’S a picture to keep in your head. Is there anything dark in your Life? If it doesn’t have, “Paid in full by Jesus, The Christ” stamped on it, what are you doing with it? Is it time to cast it aside as dung, or do you still want to play with it for just a little while longer? (Play with dung a little longer, think about that for a minute….). Cast aside everything that desires to take you down, Look Up, for your Redeemer draweth nigh, and, Be Blessed.
