Daily Devotional. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9. This is a very dangerous verse, as are all verses from the Bible, if taken out of context. This one is a great one as part of the Roman Road. It can Save you, or it can Kill you, depending on how the Roman Road is preached. Generally, the prospective “new christian” is simply told to believe Christ died for you and say so with your mouth. Simple enough. Good, you’re in. Would that “new believer” still believe if he knew that when you believe this verse and on your way back home you could be stopped by a Roman Soldier and asked, “Who is Christ”, and that if you answered, “He is Lord of lords and King of kings, He is my Savior”, that you WOULD be killed on the spot, no questions asked? If your new believer KNOWS that even today he will probably be killed for his Faith fairly soon, at an unexpected time… now, is he still a New Believer, or is he running out the door? This is Real, this IS what is happening today, just as back in Paul’s day. THE MOMENT YOU SAY YOU ARE A BELIEVER, YOU WILL BE KILLED, NO MORE QUESTIONS ASKED. Don’t split hairs with me, don’t sugar coat it, tell them THIS part of salvation and see if they stick around to hear more. We ARE sheep heading for the slaughter, TELL THEM. To understand this and to Believe this, is a foot in the door, a good start. This puts Christ as #1 in your Life, again a good start. They have to start somewhere and KNOWING they WILL be killed for their Faith, this is Wisdom, welcome to the Faith. Are you ready to hear more? If this is you, you will, Be Blessed.
