Daily Devotional. Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 1 Corinthians 9:14&16. Only the Gospel, the Good News, of Jesus Christ, can Save and change lives. The Words of Christ are Life. All other words are death. When the Gospel is Preached, the Holy Spirit brings Life to the hearer, and that Life brings the understanding that one needs to be Saved. Yes, For the preaching of the cross is TO THEM THAT PERISH foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18. When a “dead man”, hungry for Truth, hears the Gospel, he is brought to Life and is Saved. The gospel is Life to him and not foolishness. Nice little stories and childhood anecdotes can make for good teaching, but only the Preaching of the Gospel can Save. The world is full of ways to receive death eternal. Thousands of worldly ways bring death. Only One Way, the Gospel, brings Life. Broad is the way to death, narrow is the way to Life, AND FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT. If you want to save people, you can only do it with the Gospel, the Good News about Jesus Christ. Just jump in and Preach the Word as if someone’s life depended on it. Oh ya, IT DOES. With the Gospel comes Conviction, Repentance, and Salvation. With Salvation comes, never looking back, longing for the good old days. Keep it simple, Preach the Word, the Gospel will Save, the Holy Spirit will keep them, and you will, Be Blessed.
