Daily Devotional – MORNINGTIME 1456

Daily Devotional. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, WHATSOEVER I HAVE SAID UNTO YOU. John 14:26. To those who read their bible, you know that somewhere down the line, very hard times are coming. Economies will fail and bringing home a paycheck will be a thing of the past. My point is this, No paycheck, no tithing, no tithing, no church budget. If it comes down to a time when even preachers don’t take a paycheck but put that money for the light bill at church, what will the rest of the church and all its programs look like? Just how “minimalist” will the church need to get with frivolous expenses? Other than the Preaching of the Gospel, will there be anything else going on? Will the seniors take their outings to eat in the state next door? Will we still buy candy to give out for Halloween trunks of treats? Will we pay hundreds of dollars to have traveling singing groups come to entertain us? Will we spend thousands of dollars for a few hours to get the neighbors to notice us? Will we be able to afford a week of vacation bible school, or a week of camp? These are all things enjoyed at many Baptist churches. If, due to tight finances in the hard times, we end up cutting things and programs that lose their glitz and glitter of importance, just so we can keep the doors open and PREACH THE WORD…. WHY CAN’T WE DO THAT NOW AND PREACH THE WORD, AND TRUST THE HOLY SPIRIT TO SAVE THEM BY THE TRUCK LOADS??? Will a cry for Holiness, Righteousness, and Purity become the Heart cry of the day? Will excesses fall by the wayside? Tell you what, if I’m wrong, I will publicly eat my words. If I’m right, we will all publicly eat HIS WORD as fast and as hard as we can. Only Christ and Him Crucified will matter. Let’s eat, and, Be Blessed.
