Daily Devotional. For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, WOE IS UNTO ME, IF I PREACH NOT THE GOSPEL! 1 Corinthians 9:16. No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light. Luke 11:33. Preach; to call, call out, recite, read, cry out, proclaim. When Joe Goat hears the Gospel and gets Saved, he is now hungry for all the Lord has for him to say and do. He is now Joe Sheep and he Knows the Shepherd’s voice. Ok, so Joe Sheep isn’t a Preacher, but He does know a little of the Gospel, AND WILL KNOW THAT HE NEEDS TO SHARE IT WITH HIS OLD GOAT FRIENDS, that they too may be Saved. It’s not how much gospel you know, it’s, will you be obedient to share what little, (or much) Gospel you do know. I’m not talking about some formula you need to follow to “preach”, just a simple obedience to the Holy Spirit as He gives you the words to say at the moment you need to say them. If you don’t speak what gospel you do know, that’s like putting your candle under a bushel to not be seen. And what True Christian willingly wants to hide his light under a basket? There are none. Maybe as a new Joe Sheep you may be fearful to talk to others about Christ, and we all started off that way, but soon Faith will grow in boldness and with the help of the Holy Spirit, you’ll be off and running, bringing a bunch of new sheep with you. Understand the concept here, don’t get legalistic. If you’re sick in bed, be a Prayer Warrior, that’s all part of the Salvation process. Some plant, some water, some feed, some reap. All to bring in the harvest. Whatever understanding you do have, use it as the Lord directs. Just be obedient with your little candle, you could be the one to fire up a church revival.
