Daily Devotional. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; BECAUSE THAT WHICH MAY BE KNOWN OF GOD IS MANIFEST IN THEM; FOR GOD HATH SHEWED IT UNTO THEM. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Romans 1:18-20. What this is saying is that the wrath of God has been revealed to God Haters and they already know they’re in big trouble. One of the things to notice about Romans chapter 1 is that it has a lot to say about many sins, sins named individually, sins that many people in society get very uncomfortable with when you start talking about them. The trouble with us church people is that we like to totem pole sins from not too bad, to very bad, and we’ll start to rail against the bad ones more than the not so bad ones. Satan knows this and has set a trap for us to easily fall into. That trap is called, “Name that Sin”. And we’re falling for it hook, line, and sinker. As soon as you “name that sin” you get labelled as intolerant and full of hate and maybe even thrown in jail. If you, Preacher, Teacher, and Joe Sheeper, want to preach against one sin, preach against ALL sin. If you want to name one sin, name ALL sins. Read ALL of Romans chapter 1 and then, let the chips fall where they may. Even ask, “Is YOUR sin in this list, God is offering you Forgiveness”. This is not a lesson on how to preach, but some thoughts on how to condemn sin in everyone, and let the Holy Spirit speak to each one of your hearers. No, don’t water down the Gospel, just preach ALL the Gospel. Believe it or not, when a sinner hears The Gospel, they WILL, Be Blessed.
