Daily Devotional. FOR MY PEOPLE HAVE COMMITTED TWO EVILS; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. Jeremiah 2:13. It is hard work to Follow Christ. On this side of Heaven to Follow Christ WILL cost you everything. There is no way around that. And if you do look for a way around it, you are already not willing to pay the full price. Those not willing are those who have seen or had a taste of the Real Thing, AND HAVE DECIDED IT’S NOT WORTH THE EFFORT REQUIRED. To do this thing God’s Way will take more effort than they are willing to give. THEY HAVE DECIDED THEY DON’T WANT GOD. How horrible is it to meet God and decide THEY DON’T WANT HIM??? He is EVERYTHING, and they willingly want to throw all that away? Christ is Pure, Living Water, Water that brings and exudes LIFE. And instead of drinking from the River of Life, they turn and scrounge around for some broken well, (cistern), to work very hard to get a cup of stagnant, polluted, scum water instead??? People of the world have never met God and will die in their sins for not listening to what little of God they did know. But church people, who actually have heard of God and even seen God in Action, and reject Him…… Unfinished sentence. “Reject” is too kind a word here. These are people who absolutely HATE God, and will shake their fist at Him for all eternity, and curse His Son, for being so Kind and Merciful to them in their old life. They Loved their old worldly life so much, they hate God for providing a Way out of it. They were living in a sea of sewage and hate God for throwing them a LIFELINE. I’m sorry, you can’t get any more Hateful, FULL OF HATE, than that. A hate so bad, people will willingly, knowingly, go to Hell, just to get away from God. They will cuss God for offering them safety, and cuss themselves for not taking it. Doing this, they will NEVER, Be Blessed.
