Daily Devotional. And it shall come to pass, IF YE SHALL HEARKEN diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, That I WILL GIVE YOU THE RAIN of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil. Deuteronomy 11:13-14. Let’s try this with a twofold reading. The first is just as it sounds. Obey the Lord and He will give you a warm rain for your animals, crops, and land. Don’t obey and, no rain. That’s easy. Now how about in the realm of the Spirit? Obey the Lord and all kinds of Spiritual Blessings will be given to you. Again, don’t obey, no Spiritual Blessings. If we’re found Faithful in the little things, we will be found Faithful in the big things. God is looking for a people of Faith who WILL Believe the Lord and obey His Holy Spirit. The first small thing to trust the Lord for is to give up our own personal control over our life, and Trust the Lord to Take control, and do a much better job than us. This first small Trusting is called Salvation. We HAVE to pass this test first, in order to move on to bigger and greater things. No, we’re not talking the prosperity gospel here with a new car in every driveway. But once you give the Lord Total and Complete control of your Life, (and yes, that is also a work in progress), THEN the Lord will show, and shower you with many things HE wants you to see from Him. He will Build your Faith, Open up your Understanding of the Word, Teach you how to Fight Spiritual Battles, Learn to Hear that Still, Small, Voice, and Learn how to Accept things you don’t understand, just to name a few. When the Lord rains water, all your “physical” needs are met. When the Lord reigns over your Spiritual Life, that will be from today, to throughout all eternity, and then there’s no end to how you will, Be Blessed.
