Daily Devotional. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR as thyself. Matthew 22:39. So what exactly does this mean? Offer him a hot dog when He walks past your family BBQ? Help him replace a broken window before the rain sets in? Or even ask him if he wants to go to church with you sometime? All these things are good, and if your neighbor doesn’t know the Lord, showing him this kind of love is a good thing. But what about your neighbor in church who says he’s a Christian? Do you take His word for it and leave it at that? What is proper etiquette when you aren’t sure you see any Fruits of Salvation? It’s been said, a true friend is one who will tell you the truth. Let’s try this. If I say I’m a Christian, and you have doubts about it, you can, A; leave me alone and hope I’m ok with the Lord, (and I may end up in Hell), or B; politely ask me to justify my belief, prove myself, and convince you I am a Christian. If I truly am a Believer, I will have NO trouble sharing my Faith with you, I will actually thank you for caring about my Eternity. On the other hand, if I don’t know the Lord, I will have a hard time trying to sound like one and you will discern, I DON’T know the Lord. Keep going, maybe I’ll listen to you, MAYBE NOT. Either way, YOU CARED ENOUGH ABOUT MY ETERNITY TO ASK ME ABOUT IT, THANK YOU. That is love. If I were to respond with, “Judge not, lest ye be judged”, it would be very doubtful I know Christ as my Lord and Saviour. MAYBE 20 years ago I went up front, repeated the preachers prayer, and He said I was now a Christian, HOW WOULD I KNOW ANY DIFFERENT? I WAS SINCERE AND HE SAID I WAS IN!!! People, examine yourself, examine me, we can check each other, Eternity In Hell is too long, just because of some stupid misprint. Remember, the “Lord Lord people” don’t know Christ. The fields, (even IN church) are white unto harvest. Head for the fields, and, Be Blessed.
