And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord ; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord : and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. Isaiah 11:2-5. I mean no insult to anyone’s church, but when was the last time you heard anyone preach, “Let’s all ask the Lord to kill us, and then bring us back to Life? Do this, and you WILL die”. Be careful, you have just given the Lord permission, (as if He really needed it), to kill you, either very slowly and painfully as He rips off your dead wood, kills your self, flesh, and old man nature, and crushes Pride the rest of your life, or He uses you for a specific purpose then calls you home,(kills you), to Heaven. We Serve a Good, Gracious, and Loving God who is very good at killing His own. Yes, this is a big play on words and a graphic way to describe how we die to self. Would you rather have a quick, say “the prayer”, sign the card, join the church, and YOUR IN? Or the Truth that the pain you go through now will end in CHRISTLIKENESS never dreamed of before, (read the above verses again), and go for Everything the Lord has for you on this side, and the other. Your Joy can’t even start to comprehend all that these few verses in Isaiah speak of. It takes Faith to Live in Christ, so Live and, Be Greatly Blessed.
