Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves: For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Exodus 34:12-14. All that the people of the world see is this religion called Christianity that is out to take all the fun out of your life with a big list of things you can’t do anymore. Legalism runs on lists of do’s and don’ts. It all has to be kept in check with the Law that backs up the lists of do’s and don’ts with some kind of punishment if you do a don’t. And rightfully so. If man didn’t have Laws, every man would be a Law unto himself, doing whatever was right in His own mind. And here comes this guy named Christ with even more Don’ts to follow. What’s the fun in that? Yes, Christ is FULL of don’ts, don’t do this, don’t do that, if you do, you’ll die!!! The world doesn’t understand, He also takes away ALL desire to do the don’ts. Now it becomes a Joy to don’t do the don’ts and do do the do’s. When Christ says don’t do something, it’s in the context of, Don’t play in the middle of the Interstate highway, you’ll get run over and killed. Is that Legalism? Or is that Love, don’t play in the highway? When Christ says don’t play with the idols around you, you can die, think of the Interstate, is it love, or legalism? You decide, and, Be Blessed.
