Daily Devotional. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, NOT KNOWING THE SCRIPTURES, nor the power of God. Matthew 22:29. Let’s step back a minute and take a look at things. We know that the Bible, The Word Of God, is totally sufficient to bring someone to Salvation, and to keep them. We know that there is great deception out there and it’s getting worse as we get closer to the end. Ok, so how do we keep from being deceived when there are already brand new deceptions coming down the road, and some major, old deceptions started 2000 years ago? Some are very obvious, and some are really sneaky. By the way, Satan will occasionally throw you an obvious lie for you to find and think, “I’m still on my game, I can still discern deception”, as he, Satan, is sneaking in a major new one. Never let your guard down, he plays dirty. Anyway, with so much deception out there, here’s a question for you. Is it possible to do a self-examination for deception in your life by ONLY reading the Bible for, say, 3 months? Kind of like washing your brain with the Living Water of the Word. NOTHING but the Bible. No commentaries, no Bible dictionaries, no biographies, no histories, no people of old, nothing but the Bible. Not even reading ANY related materials associated with a religion, like their study guides, histories, or founders. Does that pretty well shut the door to ANY outside informational input? There are already enough scriptures being twisted without having to go elsewhere for more. If the Holy Spirit says He will teach you ALL things, do we really need to go elsewhere to understand the Bible? Are you willing to “test the spirits” and actually ask the Holy Spirit to prove that He, and the Word, are totally sufficient to keep you, clean you up, and prepare you to be a part of The Bride Of Christ, without spot, blemish, or wrinkle? Think about it, read and study the Word, and, Be Blessed.
