Daily Devotional. Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Philippians 2:2. What is your “Heart Attitude” towards the Bible? Is it a book of rules and regulations that you have to follow, somehow, or you’re going to die and go to Hell? Or is it a love letter from our Creator that is so Full of Love, Mercy, Compassion, and Grace that we can’t help but run to Him in absolute Adoration of Who He Is??? I did not say, because of What He can do for us, or what we can try to get from Him. It’s all about WHO HE IS. Ok, back to the Heart Attitude question. If your answer is rules and regulations, than anything ANYBODY tries to tell you about the Bible and what it says will be through the eyes of question and doubt. You will look at the speaker to decide if his attitude is Right, or not. Because of this, the speaker is no longer qualified to “judge” you and everything he says will be looked at with a critical eye. If your answer is, a Merciful Creator, than you’re already off and running towards everything the Lord has to say to you. Let’s face it, we’re all just miserable rotten failures with really bad attitudes, EXCEPT FOR THE LOVE, MERCY, AND GRACE OF A MOST LOVING GOD. As we grow in Him, our old heart attitudes go as New Ones of the Lord come in. We’re all a work in progress. As we grow, we will overlook each other’s faults and see more of Christ. Does your Heart Attitude towards the speaker look for his faults as he speaks, and possibly disqualify his words? Or do you look for Christ in him, listen to HIS words, and take it all as a matter of prayer to the Lord? As we all Fellowship with each other, friends, family, and neighbors, we must be careful to not shoot the messenger, but to hear his message. Then we will all, Be Blessed.
