Daily Devotional. Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 26:1. The Bible says that in the end days there will be great deception and a huge falling away of the “lord lord” people, among other things. So, is deception suddenly going to raise its ugly head that we will quickly see it and do something about? Or will it slowly, sneakily, work its way in and we will have a hard time seeing it? Or is it possible that great deception has already worked its way in, over the last few hundred years, and we haven’t even noticed? Has Satan been working for the last 2000 years to set his foundation of lies, deception, and error, for the whole purpose of trying to get us to believe that much of what we believe today is really based on the Bible? Like, “God helps those who help themselves”? If we don’t know the Bible, Satan has lots of misconceptions, misunderstandings, and lies to lead us astray. And without discernment, many people will be deceived and lead astray. The question is, is anybody standing watch, like the watchman on the wall of old, who will keep a look-out just for deception, and will sound out the alarm when he sees some? But will anybody listen? Does anybody WANT to hear truth when the Watchman has something to say? If some church tradition is contrary to the Word, will the Pastor make a change? If we Christians won’t listen to us Christians, who will we listen to? Should we judge ourselves first, last, and only us? Is your Hearts Cry for the Things of the Lord, or the things of the world?
