Daily Devotional. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the MOST HIGH shall abide under the shadow of the ALMIGHTY. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my GOD; in HIM will I trust. Psalm 91:1-2. These first 2 verses of Psalm 91 start off with a bang. The first thing David writes about is God in such an intimate way that most of us don’t understand. He uses 5 different names to address the Lord and each of those Names describes the Lord from a different perspective. This guy Knows God up close and personal. Sure, we can use the same names in prayer and conversation, but it’s almost ho hum, we’ve got to call him something. David is addressing the Lord, describing the Lord, Praising the Lord, and Honoring the Lord all in the same sentence. He can’t come up with words big enough and good enough to adequately speak of the lord. No language of the world can even start to show Honor to the Lord. Oh yes, we try with the best we have for words for the Lord, but when we see Him Face to face, we’ll look back at our best efforts to Praise and Honor Him and see how far short our efforts really were. Don’t misunderstand, Praise Him with all you have, that’s good, it’s just that later we will REALLY see how Great He Is. This intimacy David has can ONLY come from a Fellowship and Friendship of a Lifetime of talking with each other, spending time together, and (David) wanting to grow closer and close to the Lord every time he could. Here’s my point. In today’s terms, you too can have this same kind of Fellowship and Relationship by doing just what David did, Seek, Study, Pray, Obey, Believe, and Trust EVERYTHING about the Lord. HE WANTS YOU to spend time with Him. Desire this and you too will, Be Blessed.
