Daily Devotional. I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit HE TAKETH AWAY: and every branch that beareth fruit, He PURGETH IT, that it may bring forth more fruit. John 15:1-2. Let’s look at the highlights of these verses. In one sense, WE’RE ALL IN FOR A WORLD OF HURT. If you don’t know the Lord, you’re already a walking dead man with nothing but death and destruction waiting for you. That being said, you now have from today, until the rest of your Life to get Right with God, to get yourself Saved. But don’t wait too long, you probably don’t know how long the Lord will allow you to live before He brings your Life to an end. If you DO know the Lord, sort of, but aren’t producing much fruit, in His standards, He’s going to cut you lose and throw you into the Fire. Again, you have until now and the end of your Life to also get Right with God. And to those of you who DO know the Lord, AND He knows you, that’s good, but you don’t escape painlessly either. God is going to cut off the dead wood, cut off the suckers, and cut off any growth going too far in the wrong direction. A life of being pruned may not be any fun, BUT IT’S CONTINUALLY NEEDED AND YOUR FRUITS WILL BE 100 fold. Later, after a life of pain and suffering, when you look back, from the Lord’s perspective, you’ll ask the Lord why you didn’t ask for MORE pruning so you could grow MORE fruit. IF YOU KNEW NOW WHAT YOU’LL KNOW THEN, YOU’LL BEG YOURSELF TO ASK GOD NOW TOO PRUNE YOU EVEN MORE!!! You’ll BEG Him to cut you up, get ALL the rot, and grow MUCH fruit in Praise and Honor to Him. Go ahead, bite the bullet, and ask the Lord to slice and dice you all the way to CHRISTLIKENESS. That pain will feel SSSOOO GOOD, because, when it’s from the Lord, it’s His Best, for you, so that you will, Be Blessed.
