Daily Devotional. Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, AND THAT THERE BE NO DIVISIONS AMONG YOU; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Corinthians 1:10. Remember the story of the 4 blind men “looking” at an elephant for the first time? They each found a different part, and when they got together to compare notes, they couldn’t agree on what it was, so they parted ways convinced that the other 3 were wrong. They never saw the whole picture. One started the Church of the Solid Pillar. He found a leg. Another guy started The Church of the Gentle Breeze, he was near a flapping ear. The next guy started The Church of the Sharp Rebuke, he got hit in the face with the tail. The last guy started The Church of the Flexible Power. He was picked up by and let down by, the trunk. They all missed the Truth of what they saw. TaDa, this is why we have denominations today. Somebody saw something in the Word and built it up into a denomination, instead of continuing to study the Word and see The Whole Picture. Some denominations even have a grasp of SOME truth, but stop there. Since they have the Truth, obviously the other guys don’t, so we’re right and they’re wrong. This is division among “believers”, among people who are happy with the Truth they have, and have no further interest for more Truth. These are Lord Lord people. They have found their comfort zone and gladly stay there. You can’t tell them there’s more, THEY DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT. They have their pet beliefs, called sacred cows, and won’t tolerate anyone messing with their cows. Don’t worry about people in India worshipping some cow on the street, WE DO IT RIGHT HERE IN OUR OWN CHURCHES. Kill the cows, preach the Word, Preach Christ, and, Be Blessed.
