Daily Devotional. Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? Matthew 6:31. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (Enough to share). John 7:38. I will greatly rejoice in the Lord , my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. Isaiah 61:10. Which is better, to give a hungry man a fish to eat, or, give a hungry man a fish to eat, AND, teach him how to fish? One is temporary, the other is for all of life. The concept here is a little different than the usual way this is Preached. You can get food, shoes, and water, good for a short time, or, you can eat the Bread of Life, drink Living Water, put on the whole Armour of God, and a Robe of Righteousness for now and ALL of eternity. Remember, many Believers have greatly suffered in life, (They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; Hebrews 11:37), only to Live with Christ for all Eternity. Would you like Matthew 6:31 to be a promise to you today for some clothes, food, and water for now, or, as stated above, for all Eternity??? Christ was deprived of food, water, and raiment on the Cross, in this life. Do you really expect to fare better? Can you accept what God provides for you now, AND Live in His Fullness for all Eternity? Live YES, and, Be Blessed.
