Daily Devotional. GOD IS GREATLY TO BE FEARED IN THE ASSEMBLY OF THE SAINTS, AND TO BE HAD IN REVERENCE OF ALL THEM THAT ARE ABOUT HIM. Psalm 89:7. “Feared”; to tremble, dread, fear, oppress, prevail, break, be terrified, cause to tremble. “Reverence”; to fear, revere, be afraid, (Qal) to fear, be afraid, to stand in awe of, be awed, to fear, reverence, honour, respect. Anyway you try to slice it, when God shows up, everything changes. There is a Holy Hush that falls in His Presence. All eyes are focused on Him. What would happen in your church, IF; as the people came through the front doors of the church, they were met by the Holy Spirit, who was already at work on hearts and lives. Silence was everywhere as people sat down, no daring to disturb or interrupt the Holy Spirit. Quiet Prayers of Repentance and Praise are softly sent up to the Throne Room as a Sweet Smelling Savor to the Lord. And when the Pastor comes in the side door to walk to the middle of the platform, everyone quickly, quietly, stands in sincere Reverence for the Man of God as he enters the room. The surprised Pastor stops to look at what everyone else is looking at, only to realize, they’re looking at him. The people are looking to The Man of God, to give The Word of God, to the People of God, guests and unsaved included. The Word of God goes forth cutting deep and hard, blessing deep and hard, until everyone has been ministered to. Eventually people leave saying, “God is in this place”, to go home to, possibly fast dinner and pray for their unsaved friends, to invite them to go to church with them, to start it all over again. Is this your church? Is this even you? Are you REALLY expecting God to show up? Do you act like it or even Believe it? It can be, AND SOMEDAY SOON IT WILL BE. HIS will Revere HIM. Are you His?
