Daily Devotional. Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: SO SHALL YE BE MY PEOPLE, AND I WILL BE YOUR GOD: Jeremiah 11:4. This is not something to be considered and maybe thought about, it is not a small suggestion, it’s not even, “If you would like to”, THIS IS A COMMAND. Let’s see how this works. God chose a people, the Jews, and gave them this command. They eventually rejected it and Him, so He went to the Gentiles, the non-Jews, with the same command. Most said back to the Lord, “Ya, right, whatever”, and blew Him off as a nobody. But a relatively few, a small group, have decided, one by one, to take this God up on this offer, look Him over, check Him out, see what He has to say, and very soon each one found out He is what He says He is and He means what He says. He can be trusted and He will hold up His end of the bargain. Each person who comes to this understanding comes face to face with God to hear Him loudly proclaim, “SO SHALL YE BE MY PEOPLE, AND I WILL BE YOUR GOD”, to which the Believer replies back as a loud proclamation, “I WILL BE YOUR PEOPLE AND YOU WILL BE MY GOD”. This is NOT a shouting match, this is both parties Proclaiming to all the world, “I AM HIS AND HE IS MINE”. Kinda like the President of a big corporation putting his arm around the shoulders of His right hand man and proclaiming to everybody, “This Man belongs to me and speaks with my voice, don’t mess with him, and don’t challenge him, hear me well”. Suddenly the Awesome Power resting on your shoulders is understood, along with the huge Responsibility of using that Power Wisely. Now you tremble in your boots as you start to grasp the Awesomeness of HIM WHO MADE YOU. Believer, Tremble, and, Be Blessed.
