But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto Honour, Sanctified, and meet for the Master’s use, AND PREPARED UNTO EVERY GOOD WORK. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow Righteousness, Faith, Charity, Peace, with them that Call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:15,19-22. Let’s look at GOoD Pastors. They too have come from the depths of Sin, (lost), Repented, Forgiven, Sealed by the Lord as one of His with a Love for the Lord, His Word and a Desire to see the lost come to Christ. This covers all Saved people. But Pastors have an extra Calling on their Lives as the Lord gives them a congregation to Preach to and Teach in such a Way that the Holy Spirit will stir the Hearer’s Heart to want MORE of Christ in their Life. All Believers are called to do these things with their friends, families and neighbors, but a Pastor has a Calling to do these same things, but on a larger scale. “Pastor” is one of the 5 fold Ministries the Lord calls some men into as He gives them a flock to Love, Care for and Watch over. As the Flock Grows in number and in “Hearing”, the whole church is lifted up Representing Christ as The Light in a dark and dying world. As Pastor Preaches and Teaches The Word, the Hearing congregation carries that Word forth as Examples of what the Lord can do to Save Souls and prepare them for Heaven. The Holy Spirit alone Saves, but we, the sheep, can go forth Encouraging the lost to Come To Christ. Preachers are “Joe sheep” just like you and me, but with a Higher Calling that ALL may, Be Blessed.
