Daily Devotional. BUT HIS CITIZENS HATED HIM, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. Luke 19:14. This can apply to so many different people and authorities over them, it’s a take your pick, free for all. People and God, people and people, all sorts of combinations. The key idea here is a “lesser” telling a “greater” we don’t want what you want, and that never goes well for the lesser. God’s Mercy and Grace are all over the world in all kinds of places. When the lesser tells the greater that the greater isn’t getting it right, the greater may show Mercy towards the lesser, but the lesser better get it right, and fast, before the greater closes the door to kindness, and the lesser gets his due reward for attacking his Greater. For us to attack God is sheer foolishness. When God says, You go to Hell, you’ve used up all your brownie points and God has no options left for you. The sheer utter stupidly of telling a Being so much more Greater than ANYTHING you can say or do, is mind boggling. It’s like an ant colony telling man they don’t care what man says, they’re going to do it their way. One stomp of man’s foot and the whole colony is wiped out. And yet, God is still so Merciful and Forgiving, He STILL tries to offer Forgiveness to silly man. But we’re different from the ants, we KNOWINGLY tell God to leave, WE KNOW BETTER. You can live to be 80 years old and still thumb your nose at God. AND HE’LL LET YOU, right on up to the day you die. THEN you move into His Kingdom and understand what He wanted for you. Now it’s too late for repentance, you’re banished to Hell for eternity, and that’s more than enough time for you to consider the Error of your Ways. Sorry, but you will no longer, Be Blessed.
