Daily Devotional- MORNINGTIME 1896

Daily Devotional. AND WHY CALL YE ME, LORD, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luke 6:46. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and DO the things which I say? “Luke 6:46” Sort-of…. To be clear, the first verse IS from the Bible, the second “verse” is a change of the first. So what’s the difference? The first verse is when you only hear ABOUT the Lord Jesus Christ. Since you have never met Him, you have no idea of Who He Is and what He wants to do for you, as in Salvation. You’ve only been told he’ll save you if you will just say this, repeat after me, and do this, and you’re in. Not having actually met Christ, it all sounds reasonable so without any understanding, you do the ditty, you’re told you’re now a christian, and have no reason to doubt it. And you also have no further need to do anything so you believe you can honestly say, when asked, that you KNOW that you are a christian because THE PREACHER TOLD YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT YOU WERE. “Who are you to question my sincerity, I can tell you the day and the minute I was saved, don’t judge me, I’m a christian”. And there goes another lost soul on his way to Hell thinking he has the truth and needs nothing else. For you, the Lord is nothing more than a candy store for you to get everything you want. And when you don’t get all your prayers answered, you quit church a walk away. Satan wins again. You’re an official, ”lord lord” people. OR, you HAVE met Christ, seen your sins, and the sewer tank you were living in, and are running away from your old life as fast as you can and straight to Christ to hang on to His Dear Life, forever. And any time you fall, you jump back up, brush off the dirt, and keep on running to Him. And when the Holy Spirit asks you to do ANYTHING, you ask for His Help, and do it. No fear, no question, no doubt, or at least, that’s the goal you’re working towards. We’re not perfect, just heading that way. If THIS is you, stand tall, (and having done ALL, to stand) and, Be Blessed.
