Daily Devotional. Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. Luke 6:22, 28. Just curious, are you tired of reading these verses over and over, seemingly never to change? Or are they such a part of your Life that you have already memorized them, are fully Living them, and are ready to move on? We in America are SSSOOO Blessed we can buy all the bibles we want in the open market all day long, and never be concerned about getting hauled of to jail. People in some countries will use Bible pages for toilet paper. Others will wash off that used paper, just to read ANYTHING from the Bible. Did you make it to church Sunday morning? How about Sunday night? Wednesday night? Or was it too cold, or too rainy, or you had an argument, or one of the kids got sick, AND YOU ALL STAYED HOME??? Try this. Let’s say you go to church Sunday morning, and no more. You skip Sunday evening and Wednesday night. Pastor was offering you 3 solid meals, feasting off the Lord’s Table. You generally get 3 meals a day at home, so go ahead and skip 2, for equal lack of interest. How long will you stay healthy at this (1/3) rate? Or another way to put it, do you love people food more than Food for the Spirit? Or, let’s be fair, for every 60 minutes you’re eating people food, you spend 60 minutes eating spiritual food. Can you do that for a week? And YOU get to decide what “eating spiritual food” covers. You keep track of the time both ways, and you tell God how you did at the end of the week. You don’t even have to ask His Opinion about it. Just tell Him how well you did and keep on going. (Or maybe His Opinion does, matter?) Anyway, you can give excuses not to do, or reasons To Do. Whatever you think will Bless the Lord, you do, and, Be Blessed.
