Daily Devotional. Because he hath set his love upon ME, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known MY name. He shall call upon ME, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him MY salvation. Psalm 91:14-16. The whole Psalm is good, but this is where it gets REALLY good. King David has been proclaiming all kinds of things the Lord will do to take care of His people in all kinds of situations, and all that is a real Faith Builder. But here, in verses 14-16 is where the Lord comes on the scene, puts His Arm around David, and says, All that David has told you is True, so along with what he has said, I want you to know that if you call on Me, I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT I WILL BE THERE FOR YOU. Is there any question in your mind as to exactly what the Lord means here? He’s Promising that nothing will take you outside of His Will if you will follow Him in Obedience. Now comes the hard part. Since we have no reason to doubt His Word, WILL WE ACTUALLY BELIEVE HIM AND TAKE HIM AT HIS WORD??? Yes, there is a learning curve here in building trust with the Lord. But there comes a time in the maturity of a Believer’s Life that he is expected to finally Trust the Lord and Trust His Word. From then on out, it’s a matter of OBEDIENCE to what the Lord asks of you. To Believe the Lord is first. Then to be Obedient is next. That’s where self, flesh, and the old man Adamic nature tries to go against what we KNOW the Lord wants us to do. Again, read and re-read this Psalm 20 or 30 times, talk to the Lord about all that He means here, and see if your Faith grows in leaps and bounds. God loves to Bless His people, and this Psalm is a great way to, Be Blessed.
